Once again an hour on Friday morning was dedicated to catching up with the rest of the Blitz team. This week Phillip was able to join us as well as the usual suspects of Rowena, Duncan, Steven, Clint and myself.
Rowena was only able to stay online for around 10 minutes, so we quickly provided feedback on some new corporate images, that we had all been sent, for her business Striped Mouse (www.stripedmouse.com.au). I gave my honest opinion that none of the images resonated with me, and pointed out which parts of the various designs I did like. Steven gave us further information on where they had gotten their original design concepts from, and Duncan also shared his insights and feedback with the team.
Steven had also spent time this week with Duncan and the team from GPT Design to come up with a cohesive message to include in their e-newsletter. Steven shared the story that began GPT's work with hearing impaired systems which I think is a powerful story showing the company's ingenuity, professionalism and outstanding customer service (to find out more you'll have to visit GPT's website at www.gptav.com.au).
Clint spoke of our meeting with him last Monday night (when I was starting to get sick). My husband Dave and I met with Clint at his office at ThreeSides in Jamison. We went through the technical aspects of producing, sending and managing e-newsletters and Clint has set us up an account with the software package that he currently uses for ThreeSides.
Phillip spoke of a networking seminar that he would like us all to attend next Friday which will be run by his talented self, as well as the Schmooze event that will be on Tuesday 29 September (the night before voting closes!). Phillip suggested that I'm now travelling with an entourage - do five extras really qualify as an entourage??
The Blitz competitors also have the opportunity to learn more from ThreeSides at a Canberra Businesspoint seminar which they will run next Thursday evening.
This week Dave and I will also spend time with Steven from Link Digital as we finalise the template for our e-newsletter and postcard which will be used to promote the e-newsletter's launch.
The panel also informed us that they are planning on announcing the Blitz Winner at the ACT Government's Official end of Business Month function - "In the Spotlight" to be held at the Hyatt Hotel on September 30.
So not long to go and still lots to do!!
