RockTape is a type of kinesiology tape that is used to reduce pain, support joints and reduce inflammation.

It has been designed specifically for long duration sports such as Iron Man events and Marathons.

The unique patterning on the adhesive side of the tape helps to change sensation to the neuromuscular pathways,

as well as lifting superficial tissue away from underlying structures.

These two functions give RockTape it's ability to support and heal the body's soft tissue.

It is very comfortable to wear and can last for up to one week.

To learn more about RockTape and Taping please speak to Lisa who has over 18 years of experience.

Price $25/roll (for the 5cm wide x 5m length biege colour)

Remedial Massage is aimed at correcting soft tissue dysfunction.

In the realm of Remedial Massage soft tissue is muscle tissue, ligament, tendon and fascia (connective tissue).

Generally dysfunction will arise from overuse (e.g. excessive gardening), poor posture (e.g. sitting slumped over a desk) or an injury (e.g. spraining an ankle). A client will often present with pain (e.g. headache), loss of range (e.g. stiff neck), poor coordination (e.g. walking awkwardly) or muscle weakness (e.g. can't lift or carry), or a combination of these symptoms.

Massage therapy during Pregnancy can be a valuable way for an expectant mum to tune in to her body and her needs during this special time. As the weight of the baby increases the mother's body adapts, shifts and changes to accommodate the growing baby. It is these musculoskeletal changes that often result in soft tissue dysfunction, aches, pains and swelling.

Do you compete in a sport at an elite level? Are you gearing up for a big event? Or are you just trying to get a little fitter and spending more time in the gym? Did you know that a sports massage may give you the edge that you've been looking for?

Sports Massage combines both Relaxation and Remedial Massage techniques. Sports Massage can give athletes and sportspeople the advantage over their competitors, providing them with improved preformance and reduced risk of injury.

Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle form of massage that involves a range of light manual techniques that aid the removal of excess fluid from the lymphatic system.

The lymphatic system is made up of the bone marrow, spleen, thymus, lymph nodes and a network of thin tubes or vessels that carry lymph fluid and white blood cells around the body. The network of vessels are similar to the circulatory system and in both systems there is contact with each cell in the body.

Hot Stone Massage incorporates the use of smooth, heated stones in to a Relaxation Massage routine. The stones are naturally formed minerals and are generally volcanic (basalt), granite or marble in composition. These types of stones are chosen due to their ability to absorb and retain heat easily.

Since ancient times Hot Stones and rocks have been used by various cultures for healing. Hot Stone therapies evolved as the benefit of the heated stones was realised. Stones were taken from river beds warmed by a hot sun, placed in fires or heated in boiling water before being placed directly on the body or used as a massage tool.

What if you could carve out some time for yourself? Perhaps an hour that allowed you to unwind and relax. Time that found you solace and harmony. A moment to listen to your body's needs and allow you to nurture yourself. Then a Relaxation Massage is the answer…

Relaxation Massage is aimed at giving both you and your body a time out. A Relaxation Massage is not only about the massage techniques employed, but also about the atmosphere of the treatment room. A combination of soft lighting and soothing music helps to induce a feeling of peace and calm.

Cupping is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment that improves qi flow and circulation.

Cupping is the placing of a closed container where a partial vacuum has been created, on the skin for medicinal purposes. Originally the cups were made from animal horn but they are now made from bamboo, plastic or glass. The vacuum is created in the cup, when a flame is placed within the cup, then quickly removed as the cup is placed on the skin. The quicker this occurs, the greater the amount of suction is retained in the cup. The vacuum inside the cup allows for negative pressure suction to draw up the underlying tissues in to the cup, and forms an area of blood stasis (bruise).

Foot Reflexology is an ancient form of healing that has been practiced for thousands of years. It was first recorded as a healing paradigm within the Egyptian culture in 2300 BC. In Reflexology it is believed that there are connections or reflexes from specific parts of the body (for instance, the ear, hand or foot) to the remainder of the body. By treating these specific body parts alone, you have the ability to treat the entire body.

Two styles of taping are available at Therapy Masters: Rigid Sports Taping, and Kinseotaping/Rocktaping.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a hands-on healing method which utilises Universal energy to provide healing and comfort. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words, Rei and Ki meaning – Life Force Energy. The term Reiki is used to describe both the healing energy and the system of it's use.
